Invest in the leaders of tomorrow: make a donation to the One by One Mass Media Health Platform

“Talent is universal, but opportunity is not. Investing in Universal Health Coverage ensures that future generations of Africans can enjoy the opportunities their talent deserves.”

- Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros

OUR APPEAL:

In East Africa, Non-Communicable Diseases like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, obesity, malnutrition, and mental health are on the rise. It is up to each each individual to develop healthy habits to combat disease.

Through its campaign One by One: Target 2030, the Access Challenge is partnering with Clouds Media and Safaricom to drive information and lifesaving messages across the region and on the show, East Africa's Got Talent which regularly reaches over 120 million viewers. This platform is empowering mothers and their communities to demand the necessary health services they need to thrive and to make sure that their children have what they need to thrive.

The One by One Campaign on East Africa's Got Talent

Preparations for the #EAGTOnebyOne 2020 Mass Media Campaign have already begun but we need your help to drive its impact. The Access Challenge is working closely with the Kenyan Ministry of Health, the widely popular celebrity judges, and Global health leaders from across the continent to make sure that carefully crafted messages and resources for health successfully reach over 120 million households. Through the Access Challenge's partnerships with Clouds Media and Standard Media these messages will be amplified across TV, radio, newspapers, talk shows, road shows and digital platforms across four countries.

The Goal

Mothers following the campaign receive critical health messaging, enabling them to make informed decisions and seek appropriate care for their children.

Giving Tuesday Fundraiser

Money raised during this year's Giving Tuesday fundraiser will go towards projects with our East-Africa - based media partners to drive the quality, reach, and impact of this platform.

One by One, specialists, leaders, cultural icons, and advocates can come together on #EAGTOnebyOne to make sure each individual in East Africa has access to clear and helpful information on their health. This is critical to:

  • Change public perception about common health issues.
  • Provide accurate information about commonly stereotypes diseases, and empower behavior change to disrupt misinformation.
  • Engage communities across East Africa in discussion about their biggest health concerns on the public stage.
